Well I play in this band too, and I want to have my say. Our buddy "Jim" is obviously razzing us and we being the suckers we are have decided to take him seriously - because who on earth would think that we are important enough to be given a hard time about any of our ex-members? This is the equivalent of an older brother giving us a cyberNoogie.
Well everybody knows that Teasing is just how some people show their affection.
The realization of this has really taken the wind out of my sails, since I was all ready with a snappy comeback about asking Jim just how he equates Marriage (time?) and children (assets?) to making it in a band (money?). Then I was going to say something about how both Paul and I are engaged (not to each other - sorry Jim) to be married to our respective longtime ladies next year and Steve and Donny are sure to have at least 20 bastard children running around without their knowledge. So even though we don't have any money, we must still rack up sick amounts of bonus points for band longevity (plus the eventual marriages and little brats).
I don't know how the point totals would work out, but I'm pretty sure we're winning, even if you divide our score by 4 (# of remaining players).
So, in closing, let me say thanks to Jim - we love you too bro! - and thanks to everyone else who keeps checking in to see how we are doing. We enjoy your comments, so keep them coming!

hi i play guitar in this band, and as i peek through our guestbook, i thought maybe i could help clear up some of this madness. joe decided to leave the band(and it wasn't as bitter as some of you demons wish it was) to raise his family. personally i commend him for my parents weren't around when my personality was developing, for they were in the middle of going to school and seeking out their occupations. joe is a very respectable man, even way before he made the decision to leave. now this whole "big break" thing. sorry to burst your bubble dood, but we already made it. it's when the record deal comes is when the fun stops. they make you play gay ass songs, and would eventually comprimise our sound. so fuck that! this is b-dab. like it, love it, or secretely hate us and talk shit about us on our guestbook.

I HEARD NUTT LEFT THE BAND BECAUSE HE DID NOT THINK THEY WERE GOING ANYWHERE ANYTIME SOON AND HIS FAMILY WAS WAY MORE IMPORTANT. GOOD FOR HIM, SOUNDS LIKE HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. HE HAS BEEN GONE FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS AND YOU GUYS STILL HAVE NOT HAD THAT BIG BREAK. HE HAS BEEN MARRIED FOR ALMOST 8 YEARS AND NOW HAS TWO CHILDREN, THAT IS ALOT MORE THAN MOST OF YOU CAN SAY. ALSO, WHAT'S UP WITH HIM BEING AN OUT OF CONTROL FREIGHT TRAIN. CALVANARY AND MANY OTHERS HAVE SAID HE IS THE BEST DRUMMER THEY HAVE HEARD IN A LONG TIME.

Yes, we totally agree. I, as we all, are very proud of Joe Nutt and his family. None of us (to date) is ready for "the big break". We are music lovers who continue to evolve. Unfortunately today's MTv Generation expects instant Rock-Stardom. Just the fact that we have played together for this long is an accomplishment of itself. Peace.

From what I was told and understand, is that McNutt was missing his child growing up, trying to balance work, school, and a band. At the same time McNutt was contempating this, the others were just looking around for a possible replacement. To answer the last question it was somewhat the bands and McNutt's idea to separate, everyone got what they wanted, A technical drummer and a family. So ends the great controversy.

thanks for the info, "admin". personally, i think mike and brad should just get 2 new guys and continue on with atlas. granted, it won't be the same without brett's funky bass and joe's amazing drumming but at least they'll still be around. do you happen to know of an e-mail addy or anything for mike? i videotaped them 1 night last year and they asked me if i could add the sound board tape into the vid but we never got around to it. also, do you know if they are selling the last cd they made with "kalifornia" on it? thanks!

I have heard first hand that the band broke up, but I am still in denial about it. They way I heard it, a couple of the guys wanted to pursue other things non-music related, but they are still all on good terms, so who knows what the future might bring??? I personally think the Detroit music scene is a little less interesting without them, but I wouldn't be surprised if Brad and Mike D get something else going pretty quick.
